Why we do this
There was nowhere to rent a car. So we made it possible.
Guests kept telling us the same thing: taxis don't come, buses don't go where they want to go, and the nearest rental desk is a long way away. Myoko is beautiful and spread out. Without wheels you see one mountain; with wheels you see the region.
NINJA is a Mitsubishi Rent-A-Car reception point and a restaurant. Pick up your keys, ask about local roads, and stay for dinner in the same place.

Coverage & equipment
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
- ¥1,100 per dayRequired for every rental. Waives the vehicle and third-party property damage deductibles, subject to the rental terms. Excludes intentional accidents, natural disasters, and accidents not reported to the police or accident reporting center.
- Snow rack / roof box
- Ask for a quoteVehicles normally come with a roof rack. Tell us how many ski sets and snowboards you will carry; we will confirm loading capacity.
- Child seat
- Tell us every child’s age at pickup. NINJA will arrange suitable child seats and confirm the price in your quote.
Cancellation
Free until 7 days before pickup. 30% from 6 to 3 days, 50% from 2 days to the day itself, 100% for a no-show. Weather cancellations are handled case by case — talk to us.

Original documents for every driver.
At pickup, every driver must present the original home-country driver’s license, passport and International Driving Permit. We cannot release the vehicle if any required document is missing.

What's different, honestly.
We drive on the left
Same as Australia, New Zealand and the UK. If you're coming from Europe or North America, give yourself the first few minutes in the parking lot.
Snowy roads are fine if you slow down
4WD and winter tires handle ordinary snow comfortably. Braking distance is what catches people out — leave twice the gap you think you need.
Zero alcohol. Truly zero.
Do not drink any alcohol if you are driving. Choose a non-alcoholic drink when dining with us.
Return it full
There's a gas station a few minutes away. We'll show you on the map at pickup.
No ETC card provided
Please pay expressway tolls using another available payment method.

It all happens at our counter.
Pickup and return at NINJA Akakura shop only, 12:00–21:00. We do not offer pickup at Myoko-Kogen Station. Rental car pick-up or return outside these hours may be available by prior arrangement.

Is driving on snow safe?
With 4WD and studless winter tires, ordinary snow roads are comfortable. We ask everyone to drive slowly and leave far more braking distance than usual. If conditions are genuinely bad, we'll tell you.
How many people can fit?
Tell us how many people are traveling and how much luggage and ski equipment you will bring. NINJA will arrange a suitable vehicle and confirm availability and the total price.
Is insurance included?
Basic insurance is included. Mandatory liability waiver: ¥1,100 per day for vehicle and third-party property damage deductibles. Rental terms and exclusions apply; please see coverage details or ask us.
Do the cars have roof racks?
Vehicles normally come with a roof rack. Tell us how many ski sets and snowboards you will carry; we will confirm loading capacity.
Can I book on the day?
